Wanted to share with you a Hydration Pack my sister actually discovered in preparation for a Half Marathon, DolfinPack. I let her be the guinea pig and test it out before I purchased one. (such a loving sister I am 🙂 ) Once she got up in miles I would check in to see if she still liked it and she was very happy with it, so I picked one up for myself.
What initially attracted me to it, besides the fact my sister loved it was:
- Price! $44.95 What!!!!
- It’s sleek, very simple, fitted to your body and not bulky or overly complicated
- Comes in a variety of colors
Once my Pack came in, I set it up and tested it out on a shorty 3 mile run. Last thing I wanted was to hate it and suffer for 6 or more miles. I loved it! No bounce, no rubbing and no rubbing means no chafing! And no leaking. When I first added water to it, I had it on the kitchen counter and it did leak, but I didn’t have the cap tight enough. Since then, no issues at all.
I love the neoprene material. It’s so lightweight and dries quickly from my back sweat, yuk! Also the straps that go under your chest are comfortable as there is elastic on either end, so breathing and moving are not restricted. Oh, and speaking of the Velcro strap that goes under the chest….. great support for “the girls”. The last 6 mile run I went on, I didn’t realize I had on a crappy sports bra until I took the pack off to literally run around my car to get to 6 miles and I thought I was going to die! The girls were not happy, so bonus support ladies!
The Neoprene also insolates the reservoir and drinking tube, so I add ice for those hot runs.
The only thing that bothered me was on the first 6 mile run I took it on, I noticed my shoulders were aching a little. I forgot about this on my second 6 mile run, but actually didn’t notice it bothering me the second time around.
All said and done, I’m very happy with it and will be using it for my San Jose Rock ‘N’ Roll 10K October 8th as I’m chasing a RP and will not be stopping at the water stations. I’ll also be wearing it during my Mermaid Series Sirena10 in San Francisco in November as well as on all my long training runs.
After making my purchase I was given a 15% off code to share, Selena_7sxjuxjy
And because I love this pack so much, I reached out to Mike and Cabe to give a Hydration Pack away on my Instagram running page InspiringWomenRunners so keep an eye out for that October 2nd.
If you have additional questions, there is FAQ and Care information under their Help tab on their site.
I hope this review was helpful and if you purchase a DolfinPack, let me know your thoughts. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
